Bio
Joshua Nicolás Prits Del Carpio is a Peruvian/Belorussian-American film producer, director, and writer based in Los Angeles. Raised primarily in Maryland, Joshua earned his bachelor’s degree in Media Production from Pepperdine University in Malibu and subsequently went on to work as an independent filmmaker. As a globalist, his work focuses on highlighting underrepresented stories with diverse cultural themes and explorations of the human experience around the world. He has worked with the National Association of Latino Independent Producers with a mission of emphasizing Latino/a/e voices in entertainment. As a creative, Joshua credits Latin American magic realism, westerns, space operas, and Italian neorealism as his biggest sources of inspiration. Joshua’s work has been showcased at film festivals across the country.
Joshua has fulfilled a multitude of roles on dozens of sets, including Director, Producer, Line Producer, First Assistant Director, Production Designer, and Script Supervisor.
Since 2020, he has performed under the name Nico Prince and released his debut independent album Basile Demo on Spotify, Apple Music, and all other streaming platforms. His music is described as a colorful mixture of r&b, hip hop, and bedroom pop. His follow up EP Deus;Ex;Machiavelli was released in August 2021.
