About Joshua Nicolás Prits
Joshua is a Peruvian-American storyteller originally from Los Angeles, now based in New York.
Specializing in media and literature, his work builds cross-cultural bridges in mediums such as fiction, manga, and film.
From working as an assistant coordinator with the National Association of Latino Independent Producers on the Latino Media Market program to restructuring Barnes & Noble‘s flagship Libros en Español categories, much of his work has been dedicated to increasing Spanish-language literacy and Latino representation in American arts and entertainment.
His recent work with Yen Press focused on managing the company’s first ever Manwha pop-up and assisting in merchandising operations at New York’s largest conventions.
His screenplays and films have competed in festivals and contests across the country, earning nominations for Best Screenplay and Best Student Film.
Background
Inspired by Latin American boom authors, Italian neorealist cinema, and Japanese role playing games, Joshua utilizes narrative work as a humanistic bridge toward shared understanding and healing the world in the combined spirit of tikkun olam and a shonen protagonist.
